An elegant midfielder who combined technical mastery, vision, and offensive flair with solid tackling and defensive work rate. Roaming freely in Estadi de Mestalla in the late 90s and early 2000s, he was the centre-piece in an exciting technical new side who suddenly came on our ITV midweek radars. A magical side that boasted an assured defence with the likes of Ayala, Ruben Baraja, Kily Gonzalez and "The Next Maradona" in Pablo Aimar!
The kit was fairly minimalist in its design, but it was a great example of how a great primary sponsor logo can make a kit pop! Turning a binary kit into a classic.
